Maryland and Pennsylvania Hogs Take Top Honors in Barrow On-Foot Swine Show

HARRISBURG, Pa. – Today, Mickinzi Ferguson, of Walkersville, Md. took Supreme Champion honors with her 280-pound hog crossbred barrow out of the junior division in the Barrow On-Foot Swine Show at the 2019 Keystone International Livestock Exposition in Harrisburg.

Ferguson also took Reserve Supreme Champion honors with a 273-pound crossbred barrow hog from the junior division, and Grand Champion honors of the junior division.

Ferguson earned Grand Champion honors in the open division with a crossbred barrow.

Jaren Bomgardner, Annville, Lebanon Co., Pa., won Reserve Champion honors in the junior division.

Ben Bard, Summerville, Jefferson Co., Pa. with his crossbred barrow, earned Grand Champion honors in the cross division.

Dylan Bomgardner, Annville, Lebanon Co., Pa., with his crossbred barrow, earned Overall Reserve Grand Champion honors in the cross division.

Ben Bard, Summerville, Jefferson Co., Pa., with a 264 Mediumweight with his crossbred barrow, earned Reserve Champion honors in the open division.

The show was judged by Al Snedegar, of Michigan.

Chester White – Heidi Benner, Gettysburg, Adams County, with a 280-pound Heavyweight

Hampshire – Heidi Benner, Gettysburg, Adams County, with a 255-pound Mediumweight

Hereford – Jim Heckel, of Roseville, Ohio, with a 270-pound Heavyweight

Landrace – Heidi Benner, Gettysburg, Adams County, with a 275-pound Heavyweight

Poland China – Heidi Benner, Gettysburg, Adams County, with a 269-pound Heavyweight

Spotted – Heidi Benner, Gettysburg, Adams County, with a 235-pound Lightweight

Lightweight Crossbred – Heidi Benner, Gettysburg, Adams Co., Pa, with a 236-pound

Mediumweight Crossbred – Ben Bard, Summerville, Jefferson Co., Pa with a 264-pound hog

Heavyweight Crossbred – Dylan Bomgardner, Annville, Lebanon Co., Pa., with a 276-pound hog

Champion Crossbred – Ben Bard, Summerville, Jefferson Co., Pa. with a 264-pound Mediumweight

Lightweight –Madison Branham, Centerville, Md., with a 238-pound hog

Mediumweight – Mickinzi Ferguson, of Walkersville, Md., with a 272-pound hog

Heavyweight – Mickinzi Ferguson, of Walkersville, Md., with a 280-pound hog

Grand Champion Junior – Mickinzi Ferguson, of Walkersville, Md., with a 280-pound hog

Reserve Grand Champion Junior – Jaren Bomgardner, Annville, Lebanon Co., Pa., with a 280-pound hog

The Keystone International Livestock Exposition is the largest livestock show on the East Coast, with more than 1,300 beef cattle, 650 horses, 1,200 sheep, 450 swine, and 200 Boer goats. This year, nearly 1,000 exhibitors from 29 states and Canada are competing in livestock events. The show also includes the 12th Annual Keystone Classic Barbecue Competition, a Kansas City Barbecue Society-sanctioned event to select the state's finest culinary competitors.
