Yorkshire Hogs Take Top Honors in Barrow On-Foot Swine Show

HARRISBURG – Hudson Brown of Frankfort, Ind., took Supreme Overall Champion honors with his Yorkshire barrow out of the open division in the Barrow On-Foot Swine Show held on Sunday, October 7, at the 2018 Keystone International Livestock Exposition in Harrisburg.

Mickinzi Ferguson of Walkersville, Md., took Reserve Supreme Overall Champion honors with her crossbred barrow, out of the junior division.

Brown also took Grand Champion honors of the junior division with his crossbred barrow, and Mickinzi Ferguson, with her crossbred barrow, earned Reserve Grand Champion honors in the junior division.

Hudson Brown, Frankfort, Ind., with his Yorkshire barrows, also earned Grand and Reserve Grand Champion honors in the open division.

The show was judged by Ken Fetterolf of Beavertown, Pa.

Six hogs were shown in the junior division with overall division champions only named, while 35 hogs were shown in the open division, with breed and overall division champions named.

The Keystone International Livestock Exposition is the largest livestock show on the East Coast, with more than 1,400 beef cattle, 1,110 horse, 1,700 sheep and wool, 225 swine, and 260 goat entries in 2018. This year, more than 900 exhibitors from 25 states are competing in livestock events. The show also includes the 11th Annual Keystone Classic Barbecue Competition, a Kansas City Barbecue Society-sanctioned event to select the state's finest culinary competitors and the first annual ranch riding competition hosted by the East Coast Ranch Riding Association.
