Cheviot Ewe and Southdown Ram Win Junior Show Supremes at 2017 KILE

Harrisburg, Pa. – Christopher Pinckney of Auburn, N.Y. exhibited the Cheviot named Supreme Champion Ewe, while Adrianna Wendland of Lonsdale, Minn. showed the Southdown named Supreme Champion Ram during the Junior Breeding Sheep Show, Sunday, October 8, during the 2016 Keystone International Livestock Exposition at the Pennsylvania Farm Show and Expo Center.

Wendland and Pinckney rose to the top of the competition, with their sheep beating out the other 17 breed champions in each ring. Each supreme winner was presented with a $200 check sponsored by EMM Sales & Service Inc., Brownstown, Lancaster County.

Show judges were Steve Majchrzak of Federalsburg, Md.; Nick Miniter of North Scituate, R.I..; and Tim Gadsby of Minerva, Ohio.

The Keystone International Livestock Exposition is the largest livestock show on the East Coast, with more than 1,300 beef cattle, 300 horses, 1,500 sheep, 300 swine, and 375 goats in 2017. This year, more than 725 exhibitors from 27 states and Canada are competing in livestock events. The show also includes the 10th Annual Keystone Classic Barbecue Competition, a Kansas City Barbecue Society-sanctioned event to select the state's finest culinary competitors.
