Maryland and Indiana Heifers Take Supreme Slots at Jr. Beef Show at 2017 Keystone International Livestock Expo

Harrisburg, PA – The Grand Champion AOB Female, a registered Chianina heifer, named JSUL Who Dat Sultry, exhibited by Clayton Mains of Hagerstown, Md., was selected as Supreme Champion Heifer of the junior show during the Junior Breeding Beef Pageant Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017, as part of the Keystone International Livestock Exposition (KILE) at the PA Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg.

Reserve honors went to the Shorthorn heifer, CF CSF Demi 650 SOL ET exhibited by Nikkel Jacob of Modoc, Ind.

Mains received the $500 award sponsored by EMM Sales and Service, Inc.

Judges Bo Bramlet of Harrisburg, Ill., Mike McGuire of Waverly, Ala., and Jim Bloomburg, Berwick, Ill. evaluated the entries.

The Keystone International Livestock Exposition is the largest livestock show on the East Coast, with more than 1,300 beef cattle, 300 horses, 1,500 sheep, 300 swine, and 375 goats in 2017. This year, more than 725 exhibitors from 27 states and Canada are competing in livestock events. The show also includes the 10th Annual Keystone Classic Barbecue Competition, a Kansas City Barbecue Society-sanctioned event to select the state's finest culinary competitors.
