Shropshire Ewe and Dorset Ram Win Junior Sheep Show Supremes at 2018 KILE

Harrisburg – Callie Taylor of Timblin, Jefferson Co., exhibited the Shropshire ewe named Supreme Champion Ewe, while Olivia Waggoner of East Berlin, Adams Co., showed the Dorset ram named Supreme Champion Ram during the Junior Breeding Sheep Show, Sunday, October 7, during the 2018 Keystone International Livestock Exposition at the Pennsylvania Farm Show and Expo Center.

Harrisburg, PA – The Grand Champion Shorthorn Female, a registered Shorthorn heifer, named CF V8 Mona Lisa Reward 782 Sol X ET, exhibited by Tyler Cates of Cates Farms located in Modoc, Ind., was selected as Supreme Champion Heifer of the junior show during the Junior Breeding Beef Pageant Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018, as part of the Keystone International Livestock Exposition (KILE) at the PA Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg.

Kansas State, Purdue, Virginia Tech Agriculture Students from Pennsylvania Awarded 1K Beef Scholarships at 2018 Keystone International Livestock Expo

HARRISBURG –  Undergraduates from Kansas State and Virginia Tech Universities, and a Penn State alum pursuing his masters degree at Purdue University were each awarded $1,000 Beef Scholarships during the 62nd Annual Keystone International Livestock Expo (KILE), on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg.

Ohio, Pennsylvania Natives Claim Top Market Steer Honors

Harrisburg, PA – Layne Lassnick, of Painesville, Ohio and her 1,340-lb. steer claimed top honors in the market steer show at the 2018 Keystone International Livestock Exposition on Saturday in Harrisburg. This is the second year in a row that Lassnick has claimed the Grand Champion Jr. Market Steer title. Lassnick first rose above a competitive class of five steers in her heavyweight class before winning heavyweight champion and the overall title.
